What would you say if I told you that two or three of those four little animals above died just to make sure that your shampoo, floor polish, and antibiotic are safe for you and your family?
Fortunately, there are some companies that are using alternative methods of testing products that leave animal testing behind; for instance, they are using donated human retinas to test eye irritation and cultured human skin to evaluate skin reactions.
This ethical issue has been controversial for decades, and animal lovers have been fighting against all these hearthless procedures in many different ways. But, what can we do, apart from signing lists claiming to stop animal testing, or demanding the companies to, at least, follow the three Rs (Reduce the use of animals on scientific procedures with non-animal alternatives whenever possible; Reduce the number of animals used in any animal testing procedure; and Refine procedures so that animals experience less pain, suffering, and discomfort)?
If we are really concerned about this real problem, we colud just stop buying products from companies that use animals for their researches.
Here is a list of some well-known companies that currently do those procedures:
Alberto VO5, Always, Ace, Ades, Adidas, Alberto-Coulber (3M), Anubis, Ariel, Axe, Bic, Biotherm, Blem, Cacharel, Calvin Klein, Clorox, Close up, Colgate-Palmolive, Cover Girl, Cutex, Denim, Dog Chow, Dolge & Gabbana, Dove, Drive, Duracell, Ecolab, Elizabeth Arden, Friskies, Garnier, General Motors, Gillette, Giorgio Armani, Glade, Glassex, Hellmann's, H&S, Huggies, Hugo Boss, Johnson & Johnson, Kleenex, Knorr, Kotex, Liquid Paper, Listerine, Lysoform, Maisena, Maybelline (L'oreal), Mennen, Mr. Músculo, N.A.S.A., Nenuco, Nestle, Neutrógena, Nina Ricci, Pampers, Pantene, Pato WC, Playtex, Pepsodent, Pond's, Post-it, Pro Plan, Purina One, Oral-B, Puig, Raid, Ralph Lauren, Secret, Sensodyne, Speed Stick, Sedal, Tampax, Timotei, Vaseline, Vasenol, Veet, Vichy, Ives Saint Lauren, Whiskas, Ziploc.
Here are some companies that DON'T experiment with animals:

nice work...well done you guys, or whomever is behind this...
i can't believe AXE is testing its products on animals!
shame on them! i'll never buy a deodorant in my life...
no matter if i stink !
lol
Nice piece! Sadly truthful...
How'd they like it if it were them or their kids instead? uh?
Sucks to see how much cruelty we humans are capable of. Gladly, not everyone is an ass and care about animals. We CAN do the difference. That's why I check what I buy so it's cruelty-free!
keep the good work
kisses
I think that people must be informed about this important situation.
Many of us, including myself, do not talk about this because we don´t know.
So, it´s a great way to keep us aware .
Greeting for everyone.
Bye
God! I don't know what to say...
I suffer so much when I see an animal hurt, or bad injured or a animal who is dying...and now that I read this I feel so bad because I use this products very often...and that's the thing, there're a lot of people, like me, that feel sad when an animal has been hurt, but don't do anything about it, they just go on with their lives and don't realize that they are doing damage as well.
Raúl thanks for posting this, is very interesting and it's a good punch in the face for everyone who uses this products.
Jesus!! Pictures made feel sad :( totally.
It's a well known topic, but for sure, as usual very little is done about it.
Where is, the legally blonde, Reese Witherspoon when all these brands test their products with animals?
well, easy solution: do not buy these brands products, use an alternative brand, maybe one that affects the environment, but we save kittens, maybe one you can not afford... but save your dog's life...
I wish that this dream of you to save animals comes true... difficult, unless you hire Elle Woods, but you're allow to dream...
maybe I could dress up my dog with any CK underwear and perfume him with Axé...
people dont really care about their pets, they only look after for themselves...
its sad, but true... I think I will not use axe anymore...
sad, we have to support all these little animals that do not deserve to be treated like that. lets support green peace... if you care, if you have a cat a dog, a bird... please do something!!
I can not believe that there´s such evil in the world... as the post above... that eben... who does he think he is? this is not a topic to make jokes about... you have to be serious man...
dont be a ... well...
dont worth it...
great job guys!

I do not think that what you just said has to be the solution. We can buy stuff that don't are used for testing animals and that also don't produce damage to our environment.
We have to find the balance, but we don't have to hurt someone by saving anotherone.
You see, if you buy a product that is not evironmentaly friendly you are contributed with the dead of many animals as well, becouse of the contamination and the efects of global warming.
by the ways it's "you are CONTRIBUTING with the DEATH of animals as well"
Woow...that is a very shocking topic, I think that is important that we make awere about that.
It´s very cruel...
Very good gays, with this kind of topics people can think about the stupid things that they do...
See you gays
Panxo
(have to write in english?)
truly, i don't know hoy many companies makes test on animals, and make me think about still buying that products...
it has to be done in animals...
I see the point of try to protect those poor animals from painful experiments, that's awful. The thing is, if you just try to evade to buy those brands, there are multinationals that don't even care about the process, just the final product, and have -no matter what- their share of the market.
I suppose that animal testing is regulated by the government of each country, so is it ours (by buying those brands)or theirs (for the lack of regulations)fault? There has to be a balance, that's my opinion
greetings Raul
I hope you visit our blog lol
it is true that industry shouldn't experiment with animals, but in the list you put some brands that produces animal food... i'm not supporting this but, if they don't use animals to taste their food, who will do it? humans?
procter and gamble should also be on the list of companies testing on animals. not to mention what they do with iams...
